October is National Dental Hygiene Month. The goal is to raise awareness of habits that promote good oral care & a healthy smile. The following article from the UIC provides easy tips and educational videos on oral hygiene and caries prevention. There are billions of bacteria living inside our mouths at any given time. Many of these bacteria build up as plaque, causing tooth decay (cavities) and gingivitis, which can lead to periodontal (gum) disease.
