Preparing Your Dental Practice for Reopening

Like so many offices, you’ve most likely had to close your doors to keep your office staff and patients safe. However, soon, many of you will be opening your offices for the first time in months. It’s important to think about what you might do differently this time, and how you can be successful in the “new normal.”

The California Dental Association has compiled a number of resources to help you get started.

“Get resources to support your practice operations as you get ready to reopen your doors. With guidance from CDA’s experts and trusted sources, strategically plan to restart equipment, review dental supply needs and update PPE protocols.”

The resource categories include:

  • Preparing your Practice: links to infection control, PPE, office procedures, and more.
  • Patient Care: patient screening, patient communication, and what to do if a patient presents with COVID-91 symptoms.
  • Practice Management: regulatory compliance, human resources and economic factors.

We are excited to say “Welcome Back” to those offices reopening in the next few days and weeks, and “Thank You” to the many offices that have remained open to handle emergency cases. We wish you the best of luck and hope you, your staff and your patients remain safe.
