We at Centrix were very pleased to hear that our product donations to the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry went to excellent use in Haiti and the Dominican Republic this month!
A wonderful letter of thanks was sent to us by the doctors and assistants that made this very generous trip.
“On behalf of Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, we would like to say thank you for your generous contributions in supporting our humanitarian trip to Dajabon, Dominican Republic. With your support, we were able to treat over 300 patients who were in need of dental treatment. Just as the treatment varied from fluoride varnishes and cleanings to extractions, so too did the patient population. We provided care for the timid and the excited, the anxious and the stoics, and from the young to the elderly; in the end, the patients were truly grateful to receive care. Our focus for the week was spent working with local children in a School for the Deaf and Mute, a small orphanage in Haiti, and working with local churches who hosted our team as we provided dental treatment to their local communities. By the end of the week, we completed over 100 operative procedures, approximately 130 extractions, and were able to provide fluoride varnishes and cleaning to half the patients treated.
Our time spent in the Dominican Republic was truly a success, and the local patients could not have been more grateful for our presence and your donations which made such dental care possible. Unfortunately our words do not do justice in demonstrating the people’s joy and thankfulness for the dental treatment provided to them, and it is your support that made such joy possible. We truly appreciate your endeavors in supporting our mission team, and we believe that your generosity is a reflection of your compassion for others and a desire to give back to those in need. Thanks again for your selflessness and your willingness to better the lives of others.”
Centrix has long been dedicated to improving the dental health of the world population. We know that any and all donations help to make a difference, and we plan to continue our support of the OHSU School of Dentistry.
