“Kenya Smiles is a comprehensive public health and dental care project of the 71 Rotary Clubs of District 5160 in Northern California and the Rotary Club of Karen-Nairobi, Kenya. It is a model plan designed to improve the oral health of children in Kenya through the development of a sustainable dental preventive care program.” Says Sheila Hurst, Kenya Smiles Project Team Leader.
In June, Centrix donated FluoroDose fluoride varnish to help this great organization. Approximately 500 patients turned up for the Kenya dental program, with 40% of those being children. Everyone was excited about having FluoroDose applied to their teeth, most especially the mothers of the children! It was also a great opportunity to educate them on the importance of maintaining good oral health and avoiding sugary foods and drinks.
All in all, the event was a success, and ended with some big smiles.
