The tissue-damaging inflammation contributes to destructive periodontal disease, and as it is well known, periodontitis can ultimately lead to tooth loss if left untreated. This inflammatory disease cannot be reversed if it progresses too far, so it is crucial to take action as soon as possible. Maintaining good oral health through proper hygiene and regular dental checkups will help your patients combat periodontal disease.

With so many talented female dentists practicing across the country today, it is hard to imagine that there once was a time when dental schools were attended solely by men. Today on International Women’s Day, we take the time to honor the legacy of a woman who changed the dental industry for generations of women by breaking this tradition and becoming the first female in the country to earn a degree in dentistry.

Randy Dieckman

Randy Dieckman joined Centrix in November 2021 as Production Manager. He oversees manufacturing production across three shifts.
Randy is highly qualified for this position, with more than 25 years’ experience in the chemical manufacturing sector and 20 years as a production manager. He has a strong background in developing company training programs and decision-making as it relates to scheduling, purchasing and operations management. As an inventory control specialist, he also brings customer service and warehouse management skills to the table. All these disciplines combine to make him comfortable with leadership, management, and problem solving.

February is National Gum Disease Awareness and Children's Dental Health Month, and we at Centrix want to help raise awareness to both causes. Gum disease can occur at any age; neither children nor adults are exempt. While typically painless and thus easy to overlook in the early stages, gum disease is a serious issue that can lead to permanent damage to the teeth or even tooth loss. Gum disease begins with bacterial growth in the mouth which develops into gingivitis. The common symptoms to look out for include swollen, tender, red gums that bleed easily, gum recession and bad breath. Gingivitis is reversible if caught early but if left untreated, the disease will progress and become more severe over time.

Dating back to 7000 B.C., dentistry is one of the oldest branches of medicine. Over the years, the profession has evolved and seen many improvements thanks to the discoveries and work of talented dentists and dental professionals. Dentists can change their patents’ lives; however, as rewarding as a dentist’s job is, it is not easy. Being a dentist requires a lot of hard work and sacrifice. This month we take the time to honor and celebrate those who in addition to taking on the challenge of mastering the difficult dental profession also overcame racial prejudice and became trailblazers of the dental field.

As 2021 comes to a close, we look back at the whirlwind year we’ve had and can proudly say that Centrix had a lot of bright spots, success, and triumphs. Definitely fitting for a 50th year celebration we think!
